This is a blog about the oldest human addiction: control.
It’s co-authored by Steve, a therapist who specializes in control issues, and Bert, his control-addicted inner monkey.
(Bert is a metaphor. Steve’s mostly real.)

What i especially like about this post Steve is that it can be applied to every situation in life. Ive already been practising it and notice how reluctant my mind is to let go just like the monkey grabbing the banana in the monkey trap and holding on even though it feel uncomfortable 🙂

Yes, that’s the paradox. The harder the monkey obsesses about avoiding discomfort the more discomfort it creates for us. Like trying to put out a fire with gasoline.

It seems to me that its about practising and getting used to the discomfort.
